EXPRESSIVE UNDERGROUND

Expressive Underground is a group exhibition held at Bai Gallery in Beijing, showcasing a curated selection of emerging and mid-career European photographers. The exhibition emphasizes diverse approaches to image making, with each artist presenting a distinct visual style shaped by personal observation, storytelling, and experimentation. Rather than adhering to a single theme, the program celebrates a rich variety of expressions, allowing the diverse styles and subjects to collectively define the exhibition’s identity.
Produced by SIAE in collaboration with Bai Gallery, Expressive Underground was a key initiative aimed at establishing a sustainable platform for contemporary photography within the Chinese market. This exhibition functioned both as a curatorial endeavor and a commercial framework, enhancing artist visibility while fostering sales and enduring connections with collectors and institutions. As a component of SIAE’s broader strategy, the project contributes to developing a model for artist representation and cultural exchange between Europe and China.
